Dennis Shrieve, MD

Dennis C. Shrieve, MD, PhD is the Rudolph S. and Edna Reese Research Professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is a member of the Imaging, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics Program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and co-director of the Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program at the University. Shrieve is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology and has primary clinical research interests in adult and pediatric neuro-oncology, pediatric radiation oncology, and stereotactic radiotherapy. His basic research interests include intrinsic radiosensitivity of human tumors, the mechanisms of intrinsic cellular resistance to radiation and chemotherapy, and combined chemotherapy/radiotherapy

Laurie E. Gaspar, FASTRO, FACR, MD, MBA

Dr. Gaspar has 30 years of experience treating thoracic and brain tumors, utilizing stereotactic techniques, intensity modulated radiation therapy and image guidance.  She has worked extensively with concurrent chemotherapy and radiation therapy for both thoracic and brain tumors.  Dr. Gaspar has been listed as one of the Best Doctors in America for many years. Dr. Gaspar has written numerous clinical research protocols for national committees such as the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG).  She is the author of more than 100 publications and presentations at national and international meetings.

Leading a team of specialized physicians along with a comprehensive suite of physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and ancillary clinical staff, overseeing all aspects of program operations and clinical care. At the forefront of innovation, actively pushing boundaries in the treatment of brain tumors through cutting-edge applications of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced imaging analysis, and adaptive radiotherapy. Expertise in leveraging AI for advancing medical treatments is demonstrated through pioneering NIH-funded research in AI-driven stereotactic radiosurgery.
