Rakesh Jalali, MD

Dr Jalali is currently involved in providing clinical and administrative leadership to India’s and South Asia’s first proton therapy facility and a state-of-the art comprehensive cancer centre (APCC) attached to it, which will be functional soon with the mandate of providing cancer care of the highest level and at the same time, generating quality data with due scientific rigour.
Dr. Jalali is recognized as a key global opinion leader particularly for high-precision radiotherapy techniques, enhancing quality of life for cancer patients and developing appropriate research models. It is to his credit and foresight that the ‘Neuro Oncology’ Group at TMH, which he developed, is hailed as the finest such unit in India and recognized throughout the world. He was also instrumental in establishing the Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology (ISNO) in 2008 serving as its founding general secretary, then its President and now chairing its senior advisory council. Dr. Jalali’s numerous research publications including in high-impact journals such as the Lancet, Lancet Oncology, JAMA Oncology, JCO, etc; have been helpful in guiding treatment philosophies in the management of cancers. A much sought after speaker, he is widely regarded for his teaching and providing expert guidance to various national and international scientific meetings and professional societies.
Dr Jalali is also known for his commitment to charity and promoting equitable cancer care for patient populations in the developing world. He has been running for decades the ‘Brain Tumour Foundation of India’, an internationally recognized charity dedicated to the welfare of the patients with brain tumours and their families, as well as conducting ‘Patient support group’ meetings for women’s cancers.
Tejpal Gupta, MD

Dr. Tejpal Gupta is presently affiliated as Professor and Incharge, Department of Radiation Oncology at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Education, and Research in Cancer (ACTREC) in Navi Mumbai, the research campus of Tata Memorial Centre. He is a well-known expert in Neuro-Oncology and Head and Neck Cancers with over 150 peer reviewed publications to his credit. He is currently Convener of the Neuro-Oncology Disease Management Group at the hospital providing guidance and leadership towards service, education, and research in tumors arising in the central nervous system (CNS). He also serves as the General Secretary (Joint) of the Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology, the premier most academic forum for neuro-onology in the country and is a core member of the Brain Tumor Foundation of India (BTFI), an in-house charity that provides support to patients and families with CNS tumors.
Monica Malik, MD

Dr. Monica Malik is Professor and Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. She has a special interest in CNS, Breast and GI malignancies and in palliative care. She has been trained at AIIMS, New Delhi. She is a recipient of the ASCO- IDEA in Palliative Care and a graduate of the ASCO Leadership Development Program. She is also a recipient of the IACA fellowship in SBRT at the Perelman Centre for Advanced Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She has over 13 years of experience and more than 25 peer-reviewed publications to her credit.
Debnarayan Dutta, MD

Dr. Debnarayan Dutta, HOD & Senior Consultant, Department of Radiation Onclogy at Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Cochin. He is reputed radiation oncologist worked in Apollo Cancer Hospital, Chennai as senior consultant before joining AIMS. He did his MBBS from National Medical College, Kolkata in the year 1999 and MD in radiation oncology from the Nilratan Sirkar Medical College, Kolkata from 2003 to 2006. After completing his MD training, he joined Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai as Neurooncology & Stereotactic radiosurgery fellow in 2006. Then he did fellowship in IMRT in head & Neck radiation Oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He joined Apollo Cancer Hospital, Chennai in 2010 as consultant and was an integral part of CyberKnife treatment team. He was awarded the prestigious ‘MERIT’ award for being a promising cancer researcher by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in 2008, presenter in ‘Hosino’ young investigator award at Yokohama Japan 2009, awarded ‘Neucletron Fellowship’ in 2010. He received aboard training from Antoine Lasassagne Cancer Centre, Nice and Oscar Lambart Cancer Centre, Lille, France for CyberKnife. He had a short stint at Munich CyberKnife Centre, Munich. He is one of the first few Cyberknife users in India and regarded as an expert in radiosurgery & SBRT and treated almost 2000 patients with CyberKnife. He received training from Varian SBRT training centre at Lisbon, Portugal in 2013 and was part of IBA proton users meeting at Paris in 2014. He is an eminent speaker in radiosurgery and neurooncology, with more than 200 national and international presentations in different academic forums. He has 35 indexed publications, 30 indexed abstracts, three chapters in three books and reviewer of few indexed journals.
