Meet the Chartrounds Team

Patricia Harrigan Hardenbergh, MD, FASTRO
Medical Director of Radiation Oncology, Shaw Regional Cancer Center, Edwards Colorado
Chartrounds Founder and Award recipient of the ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation Improving Cancer Care Grant, funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Dr. Hardenbergh attended the combined program of Dartmouth Medical School, and Brown University Medical School, earning her medical degree in 1991. She completed her residency in Radiation Oncology in 1996 at Harvard Medical School and subsequently taught and pursued cancer research while on faculty at Duke University Medical Center. Her career took on new challenges when she moved to a small community practice at Shaw Regional Caner Center in rural Edwards, Colorado. The experience of straddling the worlds of academic medicine and community practice gave her insight into the need for a bridge between the two. Emails are welcome at patriciah@chartrounds.org.
She has served as a member on ASTRO’s Health Services Research Committee with contributions to the published work on national guidelines on Partial Breast Irradiation and Hypofractionated Whole Breast Irradiation and PMRT. She was elected to be the community physician’s representative on the nominating committee for the ASTRO Board. She played a major role in the design and development of the partial breast irradiation device now called SAVI. Dr. Hardenbergh is the author and co-author of over 72 peer-reviewed publications. In 2017 she became a Fellow of ASTRO. She previously served as an examiner for the written and oral boards for the American Board of Radiology and was a Trustee on the American Board of Radiology until 2021. She has served on the International Education Committee of ASTRO for over 10 years until 2021.
