Wilms Tumor

Dr. Kalapurakal’s primary research interests are in adult and pediatric genito-urinary and CNS cancers including prostate cancer, Wilms tumor and brain tumors. The other areas of interest include development of novel therapies for recurrent tumors including prostate, brain and neuroblastoma. Radiosurgery, hyperthermia,intra-operative radiation therapy, brachytherapy, novel IMRT techniques and nanoparticle-mediated delivery of novel radiosensitizing therapy are areas of ongoing clinical and basic research.

Dr. Liu’s clinical interest is pediatric radiation oncology and he is the Director of Pediatric Radiation Oncology.  He works closely with the physicians at The Children’s Hospital Colorado.  In addition to his clinical duties, he is the Residency Program Director and is Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs and Quality.  His research interests include late effects of radiation therapy, quantitative structural brain imaging and application of novel radiation approaches in childhood malignancies.
