PET showed a 1.4 cm solid, hypermetabolic right upper lobe mass. No evidenced of nodal or distant metastases.

Pathology
|
|
Right upper lobectomy specimen contained a 1.5 cm tumor, consisting of small cell carcinoma, confined within the lung parenchyma and not involving the visceral pleura. No lymphovascular invasion was identified. Resection margins were negative. Thoracic lymphadenectomy (levels N10R, N11R, N4R, and N7) yielded 18 nodes, all negative for metastatic carcinoma.
